We decided to bring those elements together by preserving architecturally significant, pre-1940 buildings — then adding the kind of quality interior finishes that make life just a little more pleasant. Of course, updating the functional was just as critical. After all, many a modern essential didn't exist when some vintage buildings were designed (essentials such as “automatic” clothes washers, which hit the market in a big-way after 1920).

The result: in-city neighborhood homes with authentic personality.
